Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment by adding new affixes. They can also increase its base stats or add additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Usually, items with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, whereas items with strong bases such as Eth titans don't change significantly in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components are items that can be incorporated into weapons, armor, trinkets and gathering tools, giving an added bonus or impact when the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, found in loot, thrown away by enemies or received as a reward for missions or chests. Some upgrades have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a specific level to upgrade.

In order to upgrade an item of armor, the user must select it and then click the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade stats and the components or materials required for the upgrade.

There are three kinds: universal upgrades (which include gems), prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, such as gems, are able to be put on any type of equipment. They offer a lower bonus than upgrade components that have a type limitation. Infusions, which can only be placed in ascended gear or legendary equipment are exactly the same as gems, but offer higher bonuses and cannot be used in any other kind of equipment. Suffix upgrades are able to be placed in gathering tools, add their names to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for example adding an Glyph to an item that is a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would change it to a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If an individual upgrades a gathering tool, and then replaces the glyphs with a different one, the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component with a glyph, it will be destroyed, with the exception for the inscriptions, which are able to be swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process is different from previous versions in some fundamental ways. Gear is now divided into tracks and items can be upgraded a set number of times before they're "leveled out." The cost of upgrading is increased with each level, but the required materials do not increase as much. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a few items and maximize the effect of those items, instead of spreading the cost of upgrades across several pieces.

This will enable the item upgrader mod to receive new upgrade components, and have a greater chance of success. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Energy, and it resets to 0 after failure or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

When a piece of equipment is upgraded to its highest level, it will be able to gain affixes which will enhance its capabilities. The number of affixes available will depend on the item's type. For example, an uncommon or unique weapon with a base that is standard will have only two affixes, while a legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade step will require an amount of Flightstones and crests, depending on the current level of the item and the item slot it's in. Weapons typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item is not able to reach its max level, the NPC will give players the option to transfer it to a different character and re-infuse it with an upgrade set that is different. This process takes up to two hours and will cost the same amount of materials, though it will result in a lower chance of success.

To determine the height of a structure engineers employ a level to compare the measurement to a known reference point like a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This is referred to as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the backsight rod and the level and then turning the level to make the foresight rod reading. This method makes sure that buildings are constructed to a high level of accuracy and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling refers to the process of changing an item's upgrade components. It is a vital aspect of the game and can significantly improve an item's strength or damage, as well as other attributes. This can be done through the item menu or by using the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling items can be costly and should be handled with care.

The game lets players recycle upgraded items, which can be used to obtain tokens for rerolls. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or a comparable item upgrader mod. Each upgraded item could have a unique fixed-value, fixed-value benefit that increases its strength by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added to regular affixes. The more you improve a product, the greater the chance of receiving the bonus of a different kind.

The game also features various sets which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are installed on an item. This is an excellent way to add a lot of power to a specific character without spending a lot of money.

Many players opt to reroll their gear and weapons, especially in the early stages of the game. This is because rerolling can provide a much faster path to a powerful character which allows them to achieve higher levels and progress in the game more quickly.

Sets

Sets are groups of elements that can be put together in a variety of ways. They could be of various dimensions, have none of the elements, or have a single element. They are useful for organizing data or sorting information. They can also be used to analyze patterns. Sets can be classified in many ways, including size and shape.

There are a range of set items available to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some are worth upgrading, while some aren't. Armor sets with the highest defense value or set bonuses are generally worth upgrading. However, weapon upgrades often do not improve the stats of the item when in comparison to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already extensive.

Set items can be upgraded to include specific functions that are beneficial for specific builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms as well as Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements were also increased).

Another reason to upgrade certain items is to bring them into parity with their tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, comes with a wide range of levels, from 29 to 75. The upgrade of lower-level items in the set can increase their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will display the attributes of the item and the required items to upgrade it. It will show the item's characteristics, as well as the items needed to upgrade it. For example the No-mouth face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials, 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade item. Players can also look up the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, weapons and armor have a higher trade value when fully updated. Especially for weapons that have damage glyphs that are spell-like or weapon-related, upgrading them to gold is recommended because it will provide a significant increase in their power. Armor that has an upgraded appearance will benefit from this upgrade because its defense will increase when it goes from purple to gold.
