The Roomba 694 may not come with a self-emptying feature like some of the more expensive models, but it is very efficient in emptying its bin each time it returns home. The 980, just like other Roomba models in the past, makes use of a set of sensors to navigate your home. The iAdapt 2.0 navigational system tracks your home as you move, recognizing distinct characteristics and generating an image-based map which help the robot navigate more efficiently. The 980 is now able to avoid areas it has already cleaned and is much more intelligent when it comes to bumping into furniture or other obstacles.

The 960's drawback is that it does not have the carpet boost technology found in the 980. Its cleaning performance is slightly below the standards set by other models in this category. It is still a good option for homes with a lot of space and comes at a reasonable price.

Like all robot vacuums The 960 will require replacement parts for maintenance from time to time. The iRobot App will track how often you need to replace your filter, dust bin and spinning brush.
